Thomas "Tom" Porter

July 9, 1944 — June 15, 2022

Peacefully, on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at the Portage District General Hospital, Thomas “Tom” Porter passed away at the age of 77 years.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife Bev of Portage; his children Darlene (Rick) of Sanford, Jeff (Rachael) of Winnipeg, Cathy (Craig) of Edmonton and Laura (Devon) of Okotoks; 8 grandchildren Chris, Matt, Devin and Brady Balness, Zack and Josh Porter, Jana and Anthony Dixon; 8 great grandchildren Tucker, Blake and Colt, Hudson, Carter and Bodhi, Aubree and Oliver; as well as his sister Janet (Bob) of Darlingford. He will be dearly missed by his sisters-in-laws Rhona of Winnipeg and Nancy of Calgary, as well as his nieces and nephews and many special friends.

He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers Ken and Murray.

Tom worked with Manitoba Hydro for 37 years before retiring in 1999. He was passionate about Dodge vehicles and restoring them. He loved working with medal and family/friends benefited from his many inventions.

A private graveside service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom’s memory to Cancer Care Manitoba - Research, 1160-675 McDermot Avenue Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 1379 Kenaston Boulevard Winnipeg, MB R3P 2T5.
